A well-known University of Miami law professor has been arrested after he allegedly solicited an undercover police officer for oral sex.
According to the Sept. 26 arrest report, Donald M. Jones engaged in a brief conversation with an undercover officer in his 2008 Mercedes-Benz in the 7700 block of Northeast First Avenue, and offered to pay $20 for the sex act.
Miami police charged him with soliciting to commit prostitution.
According to Jones’ biography on the UM website, he has written op-ed commentaries for The Miami Herald and The Miami Times and has appeared on national and local television programs, including PBS

Police say Donald Marvin Jones tried to hire a prostitute just a few years after a previous solicitation charge made national headlines
A prominent University of Miami School of Law professor who specializes in criminal procedure has been charged with trying to hire a prostitute — again.
Jones was previously charged with misdemeanor solicitation of a prostitute after allegedly offering an undercover officer $20 for sex from his Mercedes SL500 in October 2007.
Jones voluntarily dismissed his $22 million lawsuit a week after filing. Charges in the 2007 case were quietly dropped.
The details of this week’s arrest were not immediately available, but UM officials confirmed the charges.
“The University of Miami is aware of the situation concerning UM School of Law Professor Donald M. Jones,” said school spokesperson Karla Hernandez in a statement to NBCMiami. “It is our policy not to comment on personnel matters and will be unable to issue any further statement at this time.”

Back in 2007 University of Miami School of Law professor Donald Marvin Jones got popped for allegedly pulling over in his Mercedes Benz and offering an undercover cop $20 for some sex. Jones ended up suiting law blog, Above the Law, for making a few jokes about the thing. Well, guess what? Jones just got arrested again for soliciting prostitution. He may be a professor, but he apparently doesn’t learn.
Jones, a prolific scholar who’s appeared numerous times on nationally televised news programs, got arrested on September 26, this past Monday, for purchasing services from a prostitute.
Jones maintained his innocence in the 2007 arrest, and those charges were eventually dropped.
