Moschella said when one of the men drew a weapon, an armed security guard working for the club drew his own weapon and ordered the other man to “stand down and put his weapon away.”
Shots rang out when the man refused to drop the weapon and when the gunfire ended, one of the two men involved in the fracas was dead. The man who initially pulled his gun died later in surgery; the security guard was not hurt.
The report did not say who fired the deadly shots and police did not release the names of the dead.
The Miami Herald said another shooting early Thursday left several people injured.
Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office detectives were called to Gold Fingers Gentlemen’s Club in Rivera Beach following an altercation that left one man shot in the foot. Another man was shot in the lower leg and two women were injured by shattered glass, investigators said.
