But now an elementary school in Palm Beach County is considering returning a $20,000 gift because the district learned that the donor, Rodriguez, owns strip clubs such as Pure Platinum in Fort Lauderdale and the Cheetah gentlemen’s clubs in Hallandale Beach, Pompano Beach and Palm Beach County, reports The Herald.
Rodrigues estimates his legal foundation, Rodriguez Charities, has raised at least a half million dollars, primarily through charity car washes and golf and poker tournaments. The events feature scantily clad women, according to the Herald.
Last week, Rodriguez Charities cut a check for $10,000 — the second time in two years — for a West Palm Beach school, Roosevelt Elementary, which has a high percentage of students who live in low-income neighborhoods, reports the Herald.
Shortly after, Jose Lambiet, a Palm Beach Post columnist, learned that the school’s benefactor runs strip clubs.

The winter release was probably a little ambitious. We recently ran into trouble with our recording equipment, so we are “pimping” our setup at the moment. We are hoping to re-record the tracks we already released, and also to record a handful of new tracks we have been finessing and finely combing over within the past month or so. If we can get it all together, this summer should yield the culmination of our progress, either in the form of a full-length, or maybe double EPs. It’s really just an idea right now, but it’s something we talk about on the regular.
It’s been said that your sound recalls Definitive Jux (I thought of El-P instantly) and J Dilla. What are some of both of your influences? What are you listening to right now, while you pimp your setup?

The Miami man killed in a Thursday shootout that left two police officers dead was what police called a career criminal: He’d been arrested for cocaine and marijuana trafficking, burglary, car theft and armed robbery, according to a copy of Simms’ criminal history obtained Friday by The Associated Press. He was arrested 11 times as a juvenile and became more violent as the years passed.
Simms finally went to prison in March 2007 for grand theft and robbery convictions, getting out on probation in February 2009, according to state prison records. It would be only a few months before he was arrested again on robbery and cocaine charges and sent back to prison in August 2010.
Prison officials meticulously documented Simms’ numerous tattoos that appeared to reflect his criminal lifestyle. Those included an AK-47 image and the word “gun” on his left hand; the word “savage” on his right hand; several dollar signs; the words “Lil Pimp” on his right arm; and “10-20-Life” on his right hand — a reference to Florida’s mandatory sentences for using guns in crimes.
