Miami Adult Entertainment: Investors Sue Fla. Lawyer in Fraud Probe for $100M

Published by sexymom under Miami adult entertainment

The investors include several partnerships, including one known as D&L Partners LP that invested $45 million. Another partnership, Razorback Funding LLC, invested $32 million, and D3 Capital Club invested $13.5 million.
The lawsuit details some investment sales pitches:
–In October, Rothstein claimed to represent 450 people who were due $2 million each in wrongful death cases against fruit company Chiquita Brands International. While the case is real, Rothstein represents none of the plaintiffs and it is still pending in South Florida federal court.
–Rothstein falsely told one investor that billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein — convicted of soliciting prostitution from underage girls — had offered $200 million to settle sexual assault claims made by several young women. The offer came, according to the pitch, after Rothstein’s investigators supposedly unearthed evidence that unnamed celebrities and other famous people had flown on Epstein’s private jet when some of the assaults took place.

Miami Strip Clubs: Murder rates: Juárez deadlier than Miami in ’80s

Published by stripclubfan under Miami strip clubs

Juárez, population 1.7 million, is averaging between 200 and 300 killings a month. Miami, which had a population
of 346,000 in 1980, averaged about 20 murders a month.
Since 2008, Juárez has been mired in one of the world’s massive and brutal drug wars. About 4,000 people have been killed, including police officers, businessmen, lawyers, soldiers, government officials and innocent bystanders. The Mexican military has stepped in and taken control of the city police department and the prison.
Daily violence is a way of life in Juárez, as residents stay indoors at night and executions occur in the middle of the day on busy streets. This month, gunmen executed four men outside an elementary school while classes were in session. The same day, masked assailants shot and killed six patrons of a strip club, including a U.S. airman from New Mexico.

Miami Adult Entertainment: Laurence Fishburne and ‘CSI’: The evidence is weak

Published by sexymom under Miami adult entertainment

It didn’t help, of course, that the trilogy was a ridiculous mishmash of disjointed plots that failed to serve any of the shows well. A girl gets caught in a credit card scam in Miami, shipped for her body parts to New York, and then forced into prostitution in Las Vegas? Even by TV standards, that’s a remarkable run of bad luck.

Published by sexymom under Miami adult entertainment

The dismembered body of 19-year-old college student Jorge Steven Lopez Mercado was discovered Friday in the interior town of Cayey. Lopez was widely known as a volunteer for organizations advocating HIV prevention and gay rights, and activists are planning remembrance vigils for him in cities including San Juan, New York and Chicago.
A suspect was arrested earlier this week, and a prosecutor who interrogated him concluded the killing was a hate crime, police Col. Hector Agosto said. No charges had been filed in the case as of Wednesday afternoon.
The prosecutor, Jose Bermudez Santos, said the suspect met Lopez while looking for women Thursday night in an area known for prostitution. Bermudez said the suspect confessed to stabbing Lopez, who was dressed as a woman, after discovering he was a man.
