Claims made in edited video: ACORN employee Tresa Kaelke said it would be acceptable to charge customers more for being violent toward the underage Salvadoran prostitutes Giles said she planned to bring to her operation.
Giles and O’Keefe asked Kaelke, if ACORN could help them secure a home loan so they could buy a house and start a brothel, but Kaelke said ACORN could not help.
Giles and O’Keefe, along with another man identified only as Jeff, spoke at length with Kaelke about running a brothel or prostitution ring.
Kaelke, who told the bloggers she used to work for a high-end escort service, did discuss brothel operations, but kept her comments mostly to ideas that the bloggers brought up first – such as calling the brothel a spa or massage parlor.

FORT LAUDERDALE – Flaws in Florida’s background screening system have put children, seniors and the disabled in the care of felons with records that include rape, child molestation and murder, according to an investigation by the Sun Sentinel.
State law requires employees of day care centers, assisted living facilities and group homes to undergo a background check, but they can begin work before the screening is complete, the paper reported this week.
At least 2,400 day care workers were on the job before their records turned up, including a Tampa man with this note in his screening record: “EVIL DUDE-RAPE+KIDNAP+SEX ASLT,” a statewide database of screenings since 1985 shows.
Hundreds of people in Hillsborough County charged with offenses such as theft, prostitution, robbery, arson and other crimes received state exemptions to care for children, elderly and the disabled, according to the newspaper’s databases.

The nurse complained of fighting, as well, and said one counselor had urged the boys ”to fight as men to resolve their differences.”
Staff members, the nurse wrote, complained that some of the teens were drowsy during the day and couldn’t stay awake in class after being given Benadryl to sleep at night. When she complained about the practice, she was reprimanded, she said.
The nurse accused one staffer of destroying program records “when he realized that DCF was going through” them, and doctoring other records. She said she took special care when administering medication after she mistakenly gave a client a pill that had been misplaced in the wrong pill bottle.
“The adult facility has been like a brothel. Clients [bring] drugs on the facility” and have sex, the nurse wrote, “The rules are no longer enforced. Incident reports are not even being written when clients are testing positive for drugs.”

I doubt that the shell-shocked impostor-scrubs that strap on the blue and orange gear these days have any notion of what the Fish have done to the Mets (or at least enabled the Mets and douches like Tom Gl*vine to do to themselves) in the recent past, but it’s worth noting that in a season like this, the Mets taking 2 of 3 from a team that fancies itself a 2009 playoff possibility has to count as a season high-point.
But this key series isn’t all the Mets have taken from the Fish. Now that the Mets have taken over the responsibilities of National League East laughingstock, the Marlins are without an identity. Yes, Jeffrey Loria’s revenue-sharing hoarding venture is going to have to find a new sense of purpose.
The Marlins proudly offer many ballpark amenities: sunstroke, peanuts, and daytime prostitutes.

Archive Diver – South Side Bar & Grill Late Night Ad from 1988
Tuesday, Sep. 29 2009 @ 12:30PM
Archive Diver found this ad for the South Side Bar & Grill (8099 S. Dixie Highway) in a 1988 issue of the Miami New Times.
According to ad copy they were open from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. every night and they wanted you to “Make us your late night place.”
This joint sounds cool, but we can’t find out anything about it except that there are places with the same name in Allentown, PA; Defiance, OH; and that Lipstik strip club seems to currently be located where South Side Bar & Grill Miami used to be.
The tag line on the ad says “When the bands cook, so does our kitchen!”
